Like a lot of you, I love being outside! I love hiking and camping and being far from a city. I also love swimming pools, parks, sports and splash pads! I really don’t discriminate when it comes to outdoor play! Plus, if I can get my boys to burn some energy outside, that’s a huge mom win! When my boys play outside, not only do they get their exercise and their vitamin D, but they also seem to be much more well-behaved when they do finally need to come inside. This is opposed to the days when we stay cooped up and everyone starts acting rambunctious and irritable and stir crazy. If you follow me on Instagram, you know I love sharing fun places to go and fun things to do outside! Well guess what! I found another way to have a BLAST while getting fresh air.
American Bubbles recently sent me a Bubble Boy package! This package includes everything I need to make giant bubbles! I’m not talking bubbles the size of your fist. I’m talking bubbles the size of a child. We’ve already played with them a few times, with a few different friends, and they’ve entertained everyone! Even the adults!
We had some pictures taken with the bubbles so that I would have some quality photos for this blog post. Let’s just say- this is most fun my boys have ever had while taking pictures!
The bubble boy package includes at least one bubble wand, and four bottles of bubble formula. The formula needs to be mixed with water to be activated. 1 bottle of formula + 1 gallon of water = literally hours of entertainment! We’ve already played with the bubbles three separate times and have only gone through one bottle. You want to know how long a bottle of grocery store bubbles last when handed to my boys? Approx. 92 seconds.
We brought a gallon of water, a bucket, one bottle of bubble formula, and two bubble wands to the park for these photos. We poured the gallon of water into the bucket, then shook up the formula bottle and poured it into the water. We mixed that well, then started playing. My boys loved chasing the bubbles trying to pop them just as much as they enjoyed creating the bubbles themselves!
I’ll admit there was a slight learning curve to these bubbles. It took us a few tries to finally get what we were going for. We learned to let the bubbles drip off the wands for a few seconds before attempting to open the wand and create bubbles. We learned to keep the wand closed until our arms were lifted and ready, and we learned to close the wands when we wanted to release the bubbles. Don’t be discouraged if it takes you a few tries to get it. A perk of this process is that it helps young kids with their fine motor skills!
