Karissa, from Karissa Lee Photos, told me she was interested in taking maternity photos for me. I had been wanting to see the Texas Tulips, and suggested going up to Pilot Point for pictures. Luckily, Karissa was on board. We were having major car troubles this month, so Karissa actually picked up Owen and me, and drove us up to the tulips. Talk about a good sport!
Texas Tulips is a giant pick-your-own tulip field! Years ago, a family moved from the Netherlands to Texas, and brought their tulip business with them! It feels very authentic, and is in bloom from February to April every year. Entrance is $3 a person, $5 on weekends, plus $2.50 for every tulip you pick. They do charge $25 for a professional photo shoot, but that’s pretty reasonable considering the beauty. The only difficulty with pictures here was all the people in the background. Karissa did a good job of making it look like we were the only ones there!
Warning: it was hard explaining to my three-year-old that $2.50 per tulip adds up fast. He would have picked 100 if I let him. So this place would probably make a better date night than family outing.
